During years of family health struggles, Ari Tulla began to see major flaws in the US healthcare system. He realized it was easy to find information about specific diseases and illnesses online, but there wasn’t a way for consumers to find the right doctor to treat those illnesses.

His frustration with the system and belief that he could build a solution prompted Tulla to co-found BetterDoctor in 2011 with his friend and colleague Tapio Tolvanen.

BetterDoctor makes the US health market more simple and transparent by opening up doctor quality metrics, procedure volumes, and pricing information. Since their launch, BetterDoctor apps have helped more than 20 million people find the right doctor.

Now, BetterDoctor is extending it’s impact to hundreds of millions of people by powering the health market with the highest-quality doctor data in their API and matching the best doctors with the right patients with their physician marketing services.

Already, the BetterDoctor API and Data powers more than 100 companies’ health apps, allowing other companies to innovate faster with unprecedented access to provider data. Meanwhile, BetterDoctor's comprehensive marketing services for physicians helps doctors spend more time with patients and less time worrying about their online presence – giving patients more time with doctors and doctors more peace of mind.

Before BetterDoctor, Ari led Nokia's game and application businesses where he was responsible for creation of thousands of mobile apps with over 100M downloads. Ari has over a decade of experience creating delightful new consumer products and experiences.
